Reiki Treatment

Reiki Treatment
Reiki

Reiki is an ancient system of natural healing originating in Tibet over 3000 years ago. It was rediscovered in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui in the late 19th century. He dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese word which consists of two syllables Rei- meaning universal energy and Ki meaning life force flowing and pulsating through all living things.

There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give Reiki. Reiki supports and compliments other medical and natural healing techniques.

WHAT DOES REIKI DO?
When we are well the universal energy powerfully flows through the body, however this flow can be slowed down and maybe become restricted so we start to feel unwell. Reiki works on all levels physical, emotional, mental and spiritual and helps to bring the body into harmonious balance.

Reiki practitioners receive a number of attunements so they are able to hold a greater amount of life force energy. This energy is then channelled through the hands during a treatment. The receiver of Reiki draws down the energy that is needed to re-establish balance and enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

REIKI TREATMENT
You don’t have to be ill to have a Reiki treatment it is a relaxing and calming technique that can help to maintain the body’s balance. It is safe, natural, and non intrusive.

A treatment usually takes an hour sometimes more. The recipient of the healing lies or sits fully clothed.  The therapist will place hands either on or just above the body. Each position is held for several minutes. No pressure is exerted which means Reiki can be used for babies, children and animals.
It is always advisable to seek medical help if you are concerned or worried about symptoms.

TRAINING
Maggie Stanley is a Usui Reiki Master and is able to offer Training.
There are three attunements/degrees for Reiki not everyone does all the attunements some are happy to stay at Reiki 1 or 2 while others decide to go forward to Reiki 3 (Master Level) this level is the level to attain if you wish to teach.

Reiki 1
First Degree is all about connecting to the energy, learning how to feel and recognise the flow of Reiki as well as understand the history and origins of the energy. Level 1 is about working on yourself to develop your ability as a channel and to understand and enhance self-healing.
Reiki 2
Second Degree you will learn  how to use a number of symbols that enhance the strength and distance over which Reiki can be used. You will learn ways to deepen and enhance your use of the life force energy. Second Degree teaches you ways to treat and use the energy for others both in person and at a distance.
Reiki 3
At this level you will strengthen your own ability to channel Reiki and self healing as well as treat others. You will be taught the master symbol and how to attune others to Reiki.

The Way

It has been over a year since I last wrote a blog. The reason being that I needed to take some time out for myself. This is mindfulness in action by being self aware and going with the flow. I needed to put into action a decision that I had made after a period of […]

Tess and chair

The last year  saw the introduction to our family of a beautiful Tibetan Terrier puppy, Tess. Little did I know how much she would teach me about Dogs and Mindfulness. What a joy this little girl has been, she has done so much for this family of humans and animals. My two old boys, two […]

Building up personal skills and self belief can take time and often the pathway is a few steps forward and a few back. This kind of journey benefits from some guidance and feedback but most of all support. I always liken it to having a travel guide showing you the way, the best areas, places […]

Tiredness is something we all suffer from at times. It is due to doing to much, stress or feeling under the weather. However chronic tiredness and fatigue is rarely talked about in wider terms you only seem to hear about  Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). There is another side to Chronic tiredness and fatigue that is […]
