Can the Can’ts

Can the can’ts came to me as a title for this blog as a thought for the day landed in my email in box this week. It made me think how much we say can’t in our day to day lives. The thought for the day which said, “Success comes in cans failures in can’ts

Confidence

Clients and students often tell me that they lack confidence and self-belief as such this holds them back from being who and what they want to be or do. The media seems to be full of information about confidence building and all sorts of ideas on how to boost it. With all the information out there it is hard to know where to start especially if you lack confidence.

Old never !

The saying goes that you are as young as you feel. I can feel physically ancient and a teenager mentally. It is when I look in the mirror that I get reminded that I am a menopausal older woman. The problem is if you start thinking like an old person you will become one. I like to think despite the onset of “aging body syndrome” (getting older)I still act and behave younger than I am.

Following that inner voice

How often do you have a gut instinct, that intuitive feeling, something inside guiding you only to overrule it and not even consider its guidance or alternatively work it to death over analyzing it? It is easy to become caught up in other people’s opinions about what is right or wrong or even so concerned with other people’s lives that your own needs and wants vanish into the ether.

A BikeTumble (Dealing with the Anxiety and Fear)

I had a great break a few weeks ago in the beautiful My husband and I decided to take our bikes with us so we could explore the forrest on two wheels rather than four. We stayed at a great self catering farm called Church Farm run by a lovely couple with the friendliest dogs and beautiful horses.

Women, menopause and men

When it comes to women, menopause and men the menopause can be a hard time for women but equally it can be hard for partners and the family too.

Assertiveness

Many of us go through life sometimes feeling stressed, frustrated, angry, anxious or even depressed. One of the causes for thie could be a lack of assertiveness. When our needs are not met or we constantly put ourselves second or can’t say no this can lead to many negative feelings and emotions.

Patience

Sometimes in our lives we can rush from here to there finding time just swallowing us up. On the other hand there are times when time weighs heavy and we are desperate for time to pass us by. The pace of life weather it is too fast or too slow can lead to frustration and impatience.

Time Time Time

I sometimes wonder where time goes. I often think that it speeds up as it seems to vanish into the ether without a trace. People often tell me that they are amazed at how much I seem to do and achieve, however I think I could achieve so much more which sometimes leads to frustration. I think that there is a little of the perfectionist still lurking in me which I do have to fight.

Breaking up is hard to do

Breaking up is hard to do, it is never easy it does not matter if it is a romantic relationship, a friendship, family relationship or a work one they will take their toll on you. Breaking up can stir up many emotions, thoughts and feelings like rejection, failure, not being good enough, being wrong, not perfect, bad and so on.
